James Wellstood was the son of the William Wellstood and was the pupil of his father. He became a successful and promising engraver, and the time of his death was a member of the engraving firm William Weelstood & Co. His principal plates were The Pointer and Safe in Port the latter after a painting by Thomas Moran. |
